PÖFF30 | Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival | 6-22 november 2026 | Cinema Artis
A photographer turns a modern fairy tale into a deeply personal story of love, identity, and transformation. Princess Niina is adored by three suitors, yet remains restless, searching for something she cannot quite name. Then she sheds her crown and reveals her true self. Inviting her former lovers to a secluded summer home, the stage is set for a strange reunion where memory, myth, and reality begin to intertwine, old wounds resurface, and love takes unexpected forms.
Director Eeva Mägi on “Mo Amor”: “”""‘Mo Amor’”"" is a journey through identity, memory, and the ways we learn to love ourselves and one another. Told as a contemporary fairy tale, the film moves between myth and reality, asking what remains when the roles we have inherited no longer fit. Rather than offering answers, I wanted to create a space where tenderness and uncertainty could exist side by side. It is about the longing to be seen without performance, and about the quiet courage it takes to become oneself.”
Estonian director Eeva Mägi’s previous film, “Mo Papa”, was the Critics’ Picks Opening Film at PÖFF last year and received a Special Mention.
