At the end of March, Tallinn University's Baltic Film, Media, and Arts School (BFM) will celebrate its 20th anniversary! To mark the occasion, 14 exciting student films will be selected from the extensive archive to be screened together on the big screen at Cinema Artis. Among the filmmakers are quite a few big names in today’s film scene, making it a great opportunity to see how much progress has been made or what early signs of success were already visible.
There will be a total of three screenings:
„From life and dreams“ - 24.03 19:00
„Alone and together“ - 29.03 14:00
„Different perspective“ - 30.03 14:00
All films will be screened with English subtitles. Each screening will have a short Q&A session with the filmmakers at the end.
March 24 – "From life and dreams"
The first BFM 20th anniversary screening, "From life and dreams," includes two documentaries, a fantasy film with a killer rat, and a comedy that hits uncomfortably close to real life.
Old Man and the Moose
A documentary film created as Joosep Matjus' master's thesis, telling a mystical story about human interaction with wild animals. (Director, screenwriter, cinematographer: Joosep Matjus; producer: Riho Västrik; editor: Katri Rannastu.)
Curiosity Kills
A 10-year-old boy is fascinated by his chemist father's mysterious work case and secretly starts playing with its contents. One thing leads to another, and soon the whole family is threatened by a terrifying pet.
