Award-winning director Brillante Mendoza brings us a moving film that effortlessly combines drama, action and animation.

Mindanao is a big and mountainous island in Southern Philippines and its people and their destinies are the focus of this film. Saima takes care of her sick child while her husband Malang is away in a conflict zone working as a medic. In between all this we see an animation about two brave brothers fighting a dragon – this is the bedtime story Saima and Malang tell their child.

Yes, this is an emotional film and can be difficult to watch at times, but it’s uplifting too and Mindanao is a destination worth taking.
