The Guardian

After 16 years behind bars, Gogliko is released. He doesn’t exactly know what he did that deserved such a stiff sentence. Now a free man, a changed country awaits him. His personal situation is totally changed, too. His parents are gone and most of his friends have died in the civil war. Gogliko realizes that he will not be able to find his place in this „new” Georgia. The only childhood pal who remains is Sandro, whom everyone thinks – mistakenly – is abroad on diplomatic business. In the meantime Gogliko becomes godfather to the son of an old pal for whose death he feels guilty...

At the moment Zaza Urushadze is preparing to direct an Estonian-Georgian co-production "Tangerines" in December. The film is set in an Estonian village in Abkhazia in 1992, during the fight for succession from Georgia.
