Theo secretly piles up objects in a letterbox of an uninhabited house. These are offerings that are just a part of his other rituals, in which he always avoids odd numbers, and in particular number 3. He follows the advice of enigmatic Abra in order to prevent misfortune from hitting him and his family. But misfortune soon strikes at his classroom's window...

RECYCLED - China 2012, 5'32'', dir: Lei Lei, Thomas Sauvin

A stop-motion piece that splices thousands of negatives found at a recycling zone in Beijing by French photography artist Thomas Sauvin. Over the years Sauvin built this archive of more than half a million 35mm negatives, depicting the capital and the life of her inhabitants over the last thirty years. Lei selected over 3000 photos to create the animation, an epic portrait of anonymous humanity.
