Diary of a Drunk

'Diary of a Drunk' is a black comedy about alcoholism, Finland’s national illness. The film is based on the novel of the same name by author Juha Vuorinen.

Juha Berg, a man in his early thirties, lives the life of a total drunk in Helsinki. It’s a life filled with sex and violence. Juha is an invincible wino, a man who drinks, bangs and punches harder than anyone else. He is a guy who won’t be fucked over, either by security guards, police or other alcoholics. Juha’s life changes when he falls in love with an AA group leader named Tiina who demands that he becomes sober. Giving up alcohol turns out to be really difficult. Juha hits rock bottom before learning who is in charge; he or alcohol.
